Context
Designing a gardening application for amateur gardeners: a growing calendar and a raised-bed planning tool that manages companion planting constraints.
Role
Product Designer, from user research to a working prototype, with an MVP developed using Lovable (AI).
Research
User interviews, needs analysis and benchmarking. The market offered few options, with complex or paid tools. Users wanted timely reminders, quick input and advice without botanical jargon.
Process
Successive prototype iterations, Lovable + GitHub + Cloudflare + domain-specific APIs, and progressive simplification of the raised-bed tool.
Solutions
A playful interface, reduced cognitive load, clear next actions and a mobile-optimised experience.
Results
A working beta since August 2026, with early user feedback helping prioritise improvements.
Reflection
Stronger user-centred design and AI integrated into an iterative process. Next step: making use of usage data.
